The ensō is drawn in a single unbroken movement and never corrected. The gap where the circle fails to close is the point — completeness and imperfection in the same mark. Stroked with a real brush envelope, thin at entry, swelling through the belly, thinning at the release, around the character 無 mu: nothingness.
